The Himelfarb Proszanski Patient Amenities Fund provides financial resources for basic necessities, such as soap, toothpaste, hairbrushes, and so on. This saves the patient from having to worry about purchasing everyday items while they recover. The Fund also assists patients with reintegrating into the community with items such as bicycle helmets or rent assistance to ease the transition.
There is assistance for transportation costs, for taxis and the TTC, allowing families to visit more often and provide much needed support to patients.The Fund also helps patients afford rehabilitative equipment, such as wheelchairs and other assistive devices while in care and for a short time after discharge, allowing patients to recover more effectively with the appropriate equipment. For example, a wheelchair transition allowance of $1,000 per patient is provided with two requests per program monthly.

The Himelfarb Proszanski Patient Amenities Fund, established through Toronto Rehab Foundation, serves as a go to resource for social workers and clinic managers to support the equipment needs or amenities required by patients to help facilitate their recovery. All applicants must meet the criteria for funding, and are be approved by the Acquired Brain Injury or Spinal Cord Rehab Clinic Managers. A record of use and invoice must be supplied.
